The International Army Games-2016 competition for airborne troops ("Airborne Platoon") will be for the first time attended by teams from Kazakhstan, Iran, Venezuela and Egypt.
"Representatives of eight countries’ military departments have confirmed the participation. For the first time the international stage of the competition will be attended by teams from Kazakhstan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Venezuela and the Arab Republic of Egypt," the Russian Defense Ministry announced Wednesday.
Delegations of the Indian and Pakistani defense ministries are to participate in the competition as observers.
The Games are expected to be held from August, 1-15. As many as 23 competitions will take place in polygons of Russia and Kazakhstan, as well as in the Caspian and Black Seas.
"Airborne Platoon" is the competition among airborne troops, which is due to take place at the Rayevsky training area located in Russia's Krasnodar Territory on August 3-12.
